Chicago, Illinois; August 29, 2006.  If youve been worried that you may have diabetes, here are three steps you need to take to gain control over your condition:

1. Recognize Diabetes Symptoms

Have you experienced frequent urination, excess thirst, extreme hunger, unusual weight loss, irritability, blurry vision, erectile dysfunction or increased fatigue?

Are you overweight or obese?

Do you have a family history of diabetes?

If youve answered yes to more than one of the above, your chances of being a Pre-Diabetic or Type 2 Diabetic are fairly high.

But youre in good company the Center for Disease Control says that millions of people are in the same boat.

The important point is you need to address your condition now!

2. Get Tested

The first step towards controlling diabetes is to confirm its presence.

Visit your doctor and undertake a fasting blood glucose or oral blood glucose test.

3. Stop Worrying, Dont even think of Whining and Take Control

Do Not BE A Victim.  Self-pity is a common reaction many people have when told of their diabetic condition.

Stop saying why me?. Instead, you need to say, what can I do to control this?

Standard operating advice from a majority of medical professionals is diet and exercise, and the proper healthy foods!

If you have a Body Mass Index of 25 or greater (something your doctor can tell you when administering your blood glucose test), you need to lose weight.

If you spend more time on the couch than on your feet, start exercising.

And you need to consult your doctor about the proper prescribed and over-the-counter medication will help you to better manage your blood sugar level and body weight.

Asa divorced woman, I now marvel at those who are able to createpassionate, loving, long-term relationships. From my studies with booksand the school of hard knocks, I believe that one of the most importantingredients in relationships, of all kinds, is appreciation. What is Appreciation? The dictionary defines appreciation as "a favorablecritical estimate," "sensitive awareness" and "an expression ofadmiration, approval or gratitude." When you appreciate someone, youare tuned into a positive quality of another human being and expressyour gratitude for it. ...
