It is within easy reach of most European cities as Malaga has its own international airport used by a number of low cost airlines. There are a number of well preserved landmarks situated in the heart of historical Malaga. The dynamic architecture found here draws people in the millions each year to explore every nook and cranny before seeking out adventure some other place. There are many other activities besides old buildings such as beaches and what they have on offer in the way of water sports. There are a great number of historical places in Malaga that will satisfy any history buff's needs.

The best-preserved Moorish fortification found anywhere in Spain just happens to be in Malaga. The Alcazaba fortress was built in the 11th century for the express purpose of defending the town from a seaward launched attack. The defensive walls, of which there are three, have one hundred towers overlooking the Malaga port. To accommodate the rulers at the time of its construction as well as in the future the interior consisted of three magnificent palaces for the Nazarite Kings. This beautiful piece of period architecture is now an archaeological museum where they display the many artefacts excavated from this site.

If you like castles you will love this one situated above the Alcazaba Fortress. The place where this 14th century castle sits is on the site of a lighthouse called Jbel-Faro, some people say there is an even older Muslim castle under the lighthouse said to have been constructed by Emir Abdar-Rahman This castle is from the Phoenician period built by Yusuf I of the Granada Kingdom.

The next point of interest is the Roman Theatre only discovered in recent times when they were building a garden for the Citizen's Arts Centre. They uncovered stones dating from the 1st century BC at the foot of the hill on which Alcazaba Fortress now sits. Apparently the Moors used some of the stones to build the Alcazaba which is evident due to the Roman inscriptions found on some of them.

Another important stop on your sojourn of discovery is the Malaga Cathedral one of the most noticeable buildings in Malaga. This cathedral was built in 1528 by Pedro Lopez and Diego Siloe once again on the site of a mosque. Even though it was consecrated as a cathedral it was never finished as exemplified by the name; it's called locally "la Manquita" or "the missing". The cathedral suffered many setbacks including lack of funds which hindered its building progress but in 1782 the building program was called to a halt even though the southern side was left unfinished and unfinished it remains to this day.

These are just a few of the many architectural sites on offer in this fantastic city where you booked your villas in Andalucia. To get a complete picture of what there is to see stop by the tourist information centre and pick up a pamphlet to assist you in organizing your trip.

Attic Fans

Attic and roof ventilation allows excess heat and moisture to escape at home to reduce summer cooling costs, pre-mature deterioration of roofing materials and condensation can lead to costly repairs. Effective attic ventilation relies on natural convection to pull air from the top to the bottom position, often in the open in Sofia, and the exhaust hot air from the ceiling vent in a higher position, such as through a gable, or open. Many new and existing homes are not ceilings, and its architecture can not afford soffits perforations for ventilation. While most households are conscious on the convenience brought by nicely ventilated homes, many tend to overlook the attic as one of the areas to be considered.
