Having a look at the data regarding thetrade show it emerges that Made Expo is the most visited architecture andbuilding trade show in Italy, and the last edition of the fair, which tookplace in February 2010, confirmed this trend. With over 240,000 attendees, thenumber of visitors has increased by 21% in comparison to 2009, and thispercentage is even higher if we consider the data regarding the number ofvisitors coming from abroad: over 23,000 attendees, 24% more than 2009. Mostforeign visitors come from Europe, but there are also many people who come fromAsia to visit the trade show. There are also visitors from Africa, North,Central and South America, and to a lesser extent from Oceania.

This increase in the number of visitors is notablymeaningful if you think that we are going through a world crisis that isaffecting many fields, including construction, but that does not seem to havehad negative consequences on the trade show, on the contrary: Made Expo isstill the main event of the sector in Italy, as well as an important meetingpoint and a chance to relaunch the field of architecture and construction, awide field which includes many differentsubgroups.

Following the success achieved in 2010, the next tradeshow has been organized since a long time, and it will take place from the 5thto the 8th of October. There is still one year to go, but theorganizers have already started working, as evidenced by the events that willtake place in the next months and that can be considered as the appetizers ofthe trade show. First of all, Made Expo on tour: a set of meetings that will beheld in different Italian cities from November 2010 to June 2011, to give thecompanies of all over Italy the possibility to take part in debates on some ofthe most important issues connected to the world of construction andarchitecture. The cities where the events will take place are Bari, Padua,Milan, Bologna, Naples and Rome, and the main issues to be discussed will beenergy and acoustic certification, construction site safety, finishingmaterials, aesthetic innovations in construction, planning software, structuralrequalification.

For the trade show you will have to wait a bit more, but it is worth waiting for: with a 90,000 m exhibitory space and over 1,700exhibitors, including 254 coming from abroad, Made Expo is certainly one of theunmissable events for those who work in this field. The trade show includeseight sectors, to represent in an exhaustive way all the subgroups that make upthe world of construction and architecture: structures, construction systemsand materials; building envelope (window, door and external cladding); interiorarchitecture and finishing (flooring, interior finishing, curtains, stairs); installationsand renewable energy; construction supply chain planning and services; planningand construction information technologies; worksite equipment, technologies andsolutions; sports facilities, swimming pools, fitness, urban furnishings.
