Tom Clancys Legacy Lives on in Jack Ryan Trailer


Jack Ryan is back after an 11-year break from the big screen, as Tom Clancys CIA operative returns this Christmas in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Star Trek: Into Darknessstar Chris Pine plays Ryan in this reboot of the series, succeeding previous Ryan actors Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck.

In the story an original by Clancy, who died earlier this week Ryan kicks off his career after 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan. Hes tasked with stopping a villainous Russian, played by Kenneth Branagh, from carrying out a terrorist attack to cripple the U.S. economy. Keira Knightly plays Ryans love, Cathy, while Kevin Costner plays Williams Harper, Ryans handler. Ryan eludes relentless covert forces, consults with Harper and opens up to Cathy about his real job. But, as Harper warns, Sometimes the ones closest to us are the ones we should trust the least.
